CASSIE DE COLLING

BIO

Cassie De Colling is an award winning director whose career in filmmaking began in the world of documentary.

Her first film, set on the border of Pakistan and Kashmir, was about a six-year old Muslim girl who dreamed of become Kashmir’s first female snowboarder. The film won Cassie the National Geographic Adventure Filmmaker of the year award launched her journey into directing. Cassie’s path has seen her directing content in Australia, Asia, Afghanistan, the US and the UK.

Fuelled by a natural affinity with the ocean, as both a surfer and master diver, Cassie’s love of the water, partnered with her curiosity in technology has lead her to immersive film making, and her VR project Uku360º.

Uku360º is one of the first VR films to receive funding by Screen Australia and Film Victoria and was selected as part of the Sheffield Doc Fest in the UK, a world market for documentary films.

Her work is brave, rooted in truth and reflects real life experience. Cassie is quickly carving a name for herself as a director with a knack for creating meaningful connections and high concept, visual storytelling.
