Captivated by film and storytelling since he was a kid, Scott Corbett started out his career in the agency side, as an award-winning copywriter. He parlayed the written word for stints at TBWA/Chiat/Day Los Angeles, David & Goliath and DDB LA for brands including Lexus, Kia, HBO, Carl’s Jr. and Energizer. After several successful years on the agency side Scott turned his attention to directing. He commenced with a deliciously outrageous comedic campaign for Altoids (Leo Burnett Chicago) that was tempered with the absurd and surreal but directed with restraint. The result was a unique, offbeat look. This approach has garnered Scott an array of memorable work including a campaign for Pillsbury Pizza Pops. The spots demonstrate how much of a narrative can be packed into 15 seconds, and Scott made them charming, entertaining and a little bit dark all at the same time. The campaign went on to win a Silver Lion at Cannes. He also directed Betfair “Power” out of AJF Partnership Melbourne, a campy comedic spot casting the Betfair customer as a James Bond-like winner who does what he wants, whenever he wants and wherever he wants.
